Blend: 57% Chardonnay, 28% Pinot Noir,15% Pinot Meunier, from the 2020 harvest with reserve wines from our solera system added (12%).
Hambledon’s special chalk terroir is well to the fore in the creamy notes of the higher proportion of Chardonnay, which lead through to a palate with notes of apricot, nectarine and peach. The ageing on lees adds some subtle autolytic notes, but it is the generosity of the vintage which leads the wine. The influence of Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier arrives on the finish, adding a touch of rigour to the breadth of the Chardonnay and some fruit stone nuttiness.
Ageing: Minimum of 39 months on the lees.
