Mil Historias Organic Bobal

Red

Bobal. Bobal is a dark-skinned wine grape variety native to Utiel-Requena in southeast Spain. It is one of Spain's most planted grape varieties behind Tempranillo and Airen, despite its relative obscurity: Bobal grapes have long been used as a minor blending partner to the region's more glamorous grape varieties. Now, more producers are turning toward varietal Bobal wines, which are dense and chewy with characters of chocolate and dried berries.

From Manchuela in Spain this wine has a deep cherry colour with violet tints. Nose is intense with aromas of ripe red seasonal fruit (cherries, blackberries, blackcurrant), subtle hints of violets, rosemary and a touch of black pepper. This Bobal shows distinctive power, vibrant fruit, freshness with soft and ripe tannin. It is spicy and juicy with a well rounded palate with a fascinating crunchy-fruit freshness. The finish is gently tannic combined with excellent depth

Elizabeth Semillon

White

Semillon. The main grape for Sauternes and particularly successfully grown in Australia's Hunter Valley. Hunter Valley Sémillon is one of Australia’s iconic and unique wines, totally unlike any wine produced elsewhere in the world from the same grape variety. In youth the wines are quite citrusy and fresh, but are generally perceived to gain hugely in complexity as they age and are deemed to be best drunk when at least 5 years old, frequently lasting for 10 or more years.

From Hunter Valley in Australia this wine is pale golden with a hint of bright green hues. Fresh limes, grapefruit, lemon blossom and cut grass jump out on the nose giving this wine great complexity. It has a lively fresh citrus palate with ripe lemon & lime notes enhanced by a refreshing acidity and a long lingering finish. This is a seamless wine with rich citrus flavours and a fine acidic structure, hinting at the potential for this wine to cellar with great longevity.
