This is our best selling red here at The Whalley Wine Shop and if you’ve not tried it you’re missing out! Made from partially dried grapes to create this rich, full bodied and complex wine. A blend of Nero d’Avola and Frappato grapes results in a wine with intense dark fruit on the nose with a warm, spicy and full bodied palate. This red is a real gastronomic offering. It fully comes to life, showing a wider array of flavours when partnered with food.

The ancient and unchanged land of Sicily is truthfully reflected in the wines of Baglio Gibellina. ‘Baglio’ refers to the original internal courtyard of the farm, surrounded by a series of old rural warehouses once used for the collection and processing of grapes. Old vines planted between 300-600m above sea level are grown on a mixture of clay and volcanic soils, resulting in wines that encapsulate ancient family traditions, authenticity and quality, with immense charm and easy appeal.
