Guerrieri Rizzardi ‘Clos Roareti’ Merlot

The first year of production of the Clos Roareti Merlot was 2006. The grapes are harvested from a part of the family’s estate where they have grown Merlot grapes since the late 1990s, a variety that is perfectly adapted to the climate and the red clay soil.

The resulting wine has rich, full bodied and complex Merlot characteristics on the nose and the palate alongside the aromatics of oak ageing, it is a unique departure from the lighter styles of Merlot from the Veneto region. Clos Roareti is not made every year but only in those years in which the Merlot grapes reach the highest level. This intense ruby coloured wine is packed full of plums and cherries, with aromatic notes of herbs, juniper and spices. A wine to savour.
