Ridge Vineyards Three Valleys

73% Zinfandel, 13% Petite Sirah, 10% Carignan, 1% Alicante Bouschet, 3% Mataro

One of the best-loved names (and most distinctive labels) in wine, Ridge has achieved the rare distinction of iconic status not just domestically, in the US, but around the world wherever fine wine is consumed. This is thanks to the thoughtful and consistent application of simple principles; carefully chosen, mature vineyards farmed with great care minimum intervention winemaking; production decisions guided by continual blind tasting.

The grapes were hand-harvested, destemmed and crushed before fermentation with native yeasts, followed by a full malolactic fermentation. The wine was matured in 100% air-dried American oak barrels (10% new, 40% four-year-old, 40% five-year-old).

Notes of toasty oak, strawberry jam, black tea and baking spice fill the bouquet. The palate is layered with black and blue fruit, milk chocolate, cherries and garrigue herbs with textured tannins on the long finish.
