Forget mass-produced Rioja. Bodega Forcada is Rioja on a tiny, truly family-run scale, with fourth-generation winemaker David Forcada working alongside his father and wife.

Since 1910, the family has been crafting wines from extraordinary old vineyards in the south-east of Rioja. Their vines sit at 700–800 metres, surrounded by the wild, rocky landscape of a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Many are 60–100 years old, with some over 120, producing wines packed with concentration while retaining remarkable freshness.

The results speak for themselves. Every Forcada wine we have entered into UK competitions has won Gold or Silver, while their flagship Alma de Forcada Garnacha achieved the extraordinary feat of winning three International Wine Challenge trophies in 2019 — Best Garnacha in Rioja, Spain and the World.
