Shaw + Smith Sauvignon Blanc

The dynamic partnership of cousins Martin Shaw and Michael Hill Smith MW began in 1989 when the duo decided to realise their dream of making wine together. A talent for wine runs in this family, with Martin honing his craft at the University of Bordeaux, and Michael being the first Australian to pass the notoriously difficult Master of Wine exams in 1988. Since founding Shaw + Smith, they have consistently made exciting, refined wines, exclusively from the Adelaide Hills, that rank among Australia’s best.

Following fermentation, the wine was aged on its lees for a short period and was bottled early under screw cap to retain its vibrancy. This wine is pale lemon in colour. The nose displays vibrant lemon, lime and pink grapefruit characters along with green apple and a dash of fresh herbs. It has nice mid-palate weight and texture, which reflect the carefully selected sites, and a fine acidity. Bright and aromatic, it has become known as a benchmark for Adelaide Hills and Australian Sauvignon Blanc.
