To make Christmas shopping a bit more relaxing we have asked a few of our suppliers to join us on Friday evenings (from 5pm until 7pm) and bring along a few of their favourite tipples. These are more relaxed ‘pop up’ tastings, which means you don’t need to book and are free of charge. Simply turn up when you want, have a chat with the supplier and enjoy a relaxed shopping experience with a few samples of your choice.

 

The Glenturret Whisky Pop Up:
Friday 29th of November from 5pm until 7pm at The Whalley Wine Shop.

The Glenturret is Scotland’s oldest working distillery operating since 1763 and producing a fabulous range of high quality Single Malts. Expertly aged and blended and beautifully presented. Here’s a little sneak peak at what will be open to taste Friday 29th of November…

Fanny Fougerat Cognac Pop Up:
Friday 6th of December from 5pm until 7pm at The Whalley Wine Shop.

Unique Cognac’s made by superbly talented Master distiller, Fanny Fougerat, the only female distiller producing her own brand in Cognac. Single vintage and single estate Cognacs not blended. No sugar added, no caramel, no filtering.

This is a perfect opportunity to try excellent Cognacs from this small producer. What is very characteristic for Fanny Fougerat Cognac is that it’s never blended. Every bottle from every release is labelled with a barrel number and bottle number, so it is essentially a single cask Cognac (something which is very common in whisky industry but quite unique in Cognac). If you’re looking to learn about the marvellous world of Cognac, this pop up tasting and the line-up on offer is a brilliant place to start!

 

Langham English Wine Estate Pop Up:
Friday 13th of December from 5pm until 7pm at The Whalley Wine Shop.

Langham Estate pride themselves in crafting terroir-driven sparkling wines using grapes only grown on the chalk soils of their Dorset vineyard. With the sales of English wines going from strength to strength we want to showcase some of our favourite sparkling wines that grace the shelves. Made in the traditional method in the same way as Champagne, English sparkling wine from leading producers like Langham Estate is a wonderful way to make Christmas that little bit more special.
