The title of Yorkshire’s oldest brewery belongs to Samuel Smiths, who began brewing in Tadcaster in 1758. They brew on the same site to this day, even using the same methods to brew their beer. The brewery has a range of 16 different bottled beers and ciders and to this day still use English hop varieties. We’ve had a lot of interest in Samuel Smiths, so we’re delighted to say we’ve extended the range….

Sam Smiths Cherry, 5.1%,  £2.79
Finest organically grown barley and wheat are used to create a complex ale which, having undergone primary and secondary fermentation with different yeasts and extended maturation, is taken to Samuel Smith’s small, independent British Brewery. There it is blended with pure organic cherry juices and more organic beer to create a fruit beer of considerable strength and flavour.

Samuel Smiths Chocolate Stout, 5%, £2.99
Brewed with well water drawn from 85 feet underground, the gently roasted organic chocolate malt and organic cocoa impart a delicious, smooth and creamy character, with inviting deep flavours and a delightful finish. This is the perfect marriage of satisfying stout and luxurious chocolate.

A brand new arrival to the shop is Thirst Class Ale, a Stockport based micro-brewery creating exciting hand crafted beers. They were first founded in 2014 by Richard Conway after a successful homebrewing career. Their first beers were launched in January 2015 at the Manchester Beer and Cider Festival, and have been in high demand ever since!

Their range includes:
Penny Black IPA, 5.9%, £3.99

Penny Black IPA packs a mighty hop punch with oodles of Columbus, Ekuanot and Sorachi Ace hops. Classic IPA malts are joined by darker roasted malts which not only make this IPA black, but also imparts a rich flavour.

Can Do Attitude Session IPA, 3.5%, £3.49
To celebrate Thirst Class Ales first foray into the world of canning they introduced a new Session IPA- Can Do Attitude. Simcoe, Amarillo and Comet hops combine to make a crushable session pale.

Tea Wit Tea Woo, 4.8%, £3.49- Virtual Salford Independent Beer Festival 2020 Special Edition Beer!
This is a classic witbier with a twist. Instead of orange peel the team at Thirst Class Ale have added lemon peel for an extra citrus zing, along with Ceylon tea to produce their take on a Lemon Iced Tea… but in beer form!

Other new arrivals include:

Burnt Mill Brewery Multiverse Series Level 2 IPA, 6%, £4.49
Multiverse is a series of beers which explore what it means for a single beer to exist in multiple states. Each beer has similarities and differences, each connecting but existing in it’s own unique state. Level 2 has a boost in abv and a base with extra pale, chit & flaked oats. Classic pairing of Mosaic & Citra for vibrant flavours of passion fruit and citrus with a piney back bone.

I Remember My First Check In, Blackberry & Raspberry Kettle Sour, 5%, £2.79
This super limited kettle sour is rammed full of blackberries and raspberries! Mildly sour with a juicy fruit tang, that leads into mouth-watering bramble fruits. This super juicy, sweet and sour rarity will be gone in no time, so grab a can, while you can! They won’t be around for long.

Funky Fluid Talus Double NEIPA, 7.6%, £4.49
A new brewery to us, Funky Fluid is from Warsaw, Poland. This double NEIPA is hopped with a shedload of experimental new hop Talus and a nice little dose of Citra to give some extra juice to it. Massive, juicy body and plenty of delicious citrus and stone fruits from this exciting new hope via this exciting new brewery!

Grisette Blanche Witbier, 5.5%, £2.09
Grisette Blanche Bio belongs to the rich family of Belgium white beers. This style remains full bodied, savoury and offers lots of contrast. Its head is typical of wheat beers- creamy and compact- with an opaque, hazy appearance. Respecting traditional methods, Grisette Blanche is now organic!
