It’s business as usual here at The Whalley Wine Shop for the Easter Weekend. The shop is open as normal: Friday 2nd – Saturday 3rd of April from 10.30am to 8pm, Sunday 4th from 10.30am to 6pm and closed on Easter Monday. Delivery Information:
We will be taking orders until 6pm TODAY Friday 2nd of April for local delivery (within 10 miles of the shop). We’ll deliver all local orders either today or tomorrow, Saturday the 3rd of April. Orders can be placed over the phone on 01254 822 581 or online.Due to the Bank Holiday delivery schedule any online orders for courier delivery will now not be dispatched until Tuesday 6th of April. These will be delivered by our courier Wednesday onwards. We don’t expect any extra delays, however the couriers will have a larger than usual load on their return following the Easter break. Please allow a little extra time for orders placed for courier.

1. Ktima Gerovassiliou, Malagousia, £17.49 each
For those looking for white wines, the ancient variety Malagousia is delicate with subtle floral notes and hints of wild mint. This wine pairs perfectly with lamb, tomatoes, and even Aubergine, which probably appear on your traditional or even Greek Easter table in one form or another. Buy online.

2. Alpha Eastate, Xinomavro, £17.49 each
Being hailed as “The Barolo of Greece” because the wine can taste strikingly similar to Nebbiolo with dark cherry fruit, liquorice and allspice with high-tannin and medium-plus acidity. Xinomavro is a classic choice with lamb, as its acidity and fruit notes counterbalance the richness of the meat. Buy online.
