Founded by Bethan, who spent ten years working in the wine and luxury spirits industry, Mother Root was created to offer a genuinely grown-up alternative for those choosing not to drink alcohol. The brand focuses on big, complex flavours and a small number of natural ingredients, rather than attempting to imitate traditional spirits.

Mother Root Ginger is a vibrant and intensely flavoured alcohol-free aperitif with a distinctive fiery character. Zingy fresh ginger leads the palate, balanced by the tangy brightness of organic apple cider vinegar and the gentle sweetness of blossom honey. A subtle lick of chilli adds warmth and a lingering slow burn, creating a refreshing, complex and satisfyingly adult drink. The overall style is zesty, spicy and bittersweet, with plenty of length and freshness.

For the signature serve, shake the bottle before use and pour 25ml Mother Root Ginger over plenty of ice, topping with approximately 150ml soda or sparkling water. Garnish with a slice of lemon and a sprig of rosemary for a refreshing alcohol-free aperitif. It can also be served with light tonic for a more bitter style, or used as a base for creative alcohol-free cocktails. Serve well chilled and adjust the dilution to taste depending on how fiery you like your ginger.
