We are absolutely delighted to be the winner of the Decanter Best Local Wine Shop. But we’ve always known how special the shop is and our customers are. Big thank you to everyone who has been on this journey with us! The whole team are delighted, what an incredible achievement for our amazing hard working team. Matt spent the evening in London, documenting the whole event. Here’s some photos of the night and the journey we’ve been on:

“Over the course of three months, an expert judging panel made their way through over one hundred entries, assessing, visiting, tasting, scoring and re-scoring before meeting in three rounds of judging to narrow down entries, ultimately determining one winner in each category”… The Whalley Wine Shop being one of them!

“The 2019 judging panel consisted of five independent wine experts who have been chosen for their extensive knowledge in the retailer environment”.

Peter Richards MW, Chairman – Wine writer and TV presenter.

Andy Howard MW – Decanter contributor, wine writer and consultant.

Peter Ranscombe – Wine columnist and drinks blogger for the Scottish Field.

Matt Walls – Freelance wine writer.

Laura Clay – Wine Educator and Chairman of the Association of Wine Educators.

Our little shop in Whalley just won the Best Local Wine Shop in the UK. It really is just an incredible achievement for our amazing hard working team. No bells and whistles just great honest wines and good service.

To celebrate our success we will be having Laurent Perrier Rose and Ruinart at just £10 a glass all weekend long. We would love it if you joined in the celebration with us. We are open until 10pm, 7 days a week.

It truly was an amazing night, with some amazing people involved.

Why not come pay us a visit and we’ll be able to find your perfect tipple! Want to get in touch? We’d love to hear from you! Message us on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
