1. Champagne Charles Heidsieck Rosé Réserve NV. £57.99
Judges note: “A really classy wine with lots of structure and depth- very vinous but with delicious red fruit and crisp apple, and complex notes of brioche and superb length and balance”

2. KWV Laborie Blanc de Blancs Method Cap Classique. £13.99
Judges note: “There’s an intriguing chalky texture and lots of richness, with dried fruit and raisin notes. All that comes with really beautiful acidic support. This would be an excellent and characterful addition to any range of sparkling wine”.

3. Caves Languedoc Roussillon Rosé des Plages Premium. £11.99
Judges note: “Nice colour! Very pale onion skin. Lovely nose, too, of purple flowers and strawberry- this is a charming, well balanced wine with wild forest fruits. Value!”

Judges note: “Very classy Pinot Gris nose with expressive spicy pear and a nice interplay of sweet fruit and acidity, and a sappy texture”

Judges note: “Pure, with lemon and kiwi notes, this is beautifully fresh with racy acidity.” “On the palate, there’s lychee and a nutty- honey character, lifted by that acidity”
6. Bodegas Viñátigo Vijariego Blanco. £21.99
Judges note: “This is something deliciously different, mingling creamy notes with tanginess and salty acidity. With intensity, complexity and unusual flavours, what’s not to like about this for an independent?”

Judges note: “Built for food. Lovely onion skin colour; on the palate this has a very appealing gentle spice quality and a long finish”

Judges note: “A big sweetie of a red with wide appeal, with loads of black cherry, nutmeg and new leather, chocolate and a finish of garrigue herbiness”.
