23rd March 2020 by Rachel Wallhouse

We have taken the decision to temporarily close The Whalley Wine Shop while the Covid-19 virus situation is ongoing. We will be closed from 6pm on Monday 23rd of March.

As a ‘non-essential’ shop this is to protect the Health and Safety of our team here and that of our customers. It is also to promote the ‘Social Distancing’ system that is being advised by the Government and will hopefully slow the spread of this virus and relieve the pressure on our NHS.  If you are unsure how social distancing works please see the useful short videos below that explain it and shows it in action (click the photos below to see our tweets about it).

We will be open 10am on Monday morning and will then close from 6pm on Monday the 23rd until further notice.
We WILL however continue to offer home delivery of our wines, beers, spirits and cigars. We are happy to take your calls and messages via:
Phone – 01254 822 581
Email – mail@thewhalleywineshop.com
Or message us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

These orders will be processed, all bottles or stock wiped down, and then boxed for delivery. Our delivery options from orders placed at the shop are as follows:
Within 10 miles – FREE Delivery
10-20 miles – £4.99 Delivery
20+ Miles – £9.99 courier service

Deliveries will be made with gloves, all contact minimised and ‘Knock and Drop’ is available to avoid any contact. (see this amazing video from South Wales for how to behave…!) ???? ???? ????

We also have products available on our Website and will be adding new products as fast as possible. Please see these here.

Just because the shop is closed does not mean we cannot look after our customers like we normally would, the team here are still happy to talk you through options, food matches, discuss your choices and make sure you get the right wines to suit your taste! Just get in touch and let us do the rest!

We will still need the support of our amazing customers to make sure we can keep our bills and our team paid. Our message as always would be ‘Shop Local’, ‘Support Independents’ and ‘Protect the High Street’. If you can shop with us remotely we really, genuinely would appreciate the support.

It is not all doom and gloom. We will be keeping very busy and taking this time to improve what we offer our customers, how we can do better and give people the fantastic shopping experience they would expect from a top quality Independent Wine Shop!

We will come out of this stronger and better than ever and ready for a new chapter at The Whalley Wine Shop.

Take care, keep your distance, stay safe.

Tom, Jen and the Whalley Wine Shop Team x
