With the government’s recent updates bringing about a number of changes I wanted to just update you on how things stand at The Whalley Wine Shop.

 

Despite the relaxation of some lockdown measures we still feel that the health of our team, of our customers and of the wider general public is better protected by the shop remaining closed. We would like nothing more than to have our shop doors open to the public and to see our wonderful customers back in the shop again however we do not feel the time is right just yet.

Most of us have elderly relatives or friends, or people in our social circle who have health conditions that make them more vulnerable. It is not fair to increase the chances of passing the Covid-19 virus onto them by re-opening earlier than is absolutely necessary.

 

At the moment while the shop door is closed we are still ‘open’ to buy wine, spirits, beers, ciders, soft drinks, crisps, tobacco products, vouchers etc. in a variety of ways:

1) We have an E-commerce website with over 120+ products available and more being added daily. You can find this at www.thewhalleywineshop.com and clicking the ‘Online Shop’ tab (or follow the link)
2) We are taking orders via email on mail@thewhalleywineshop.com
3) We are taking orders over the phone on 01254 822 581
4) We are answering messages and queries on our social media platforms, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram

While we cannot let you in to browse the shelves yourself the team at The Whalley Wine Shop are on hand to pass on all our normal advice and recommendations. Let us know what you are looking for and we can talk you through the options and help you choose the right wine. Or pass over the responsibility and let us pick some great wines for you via one of our ‘Surprise Mixed cases’.

 

We are offering safe delivery to your doorstep via a ‘Knock and Drop’ System with delivery drivers taking the necessary precautions. We are offering the following delivery options:

Within 10 miles of the shop: Free delivery
Between 10 miles – 20 miles from the shop: £4.99 delivery charge
Over 20 miles from the shop: £9.99 delivery per case of 12 via national courier

So far the support from our customers has been fantastic and we really appreciate every single person locally or further afield who has placed an order and enabled us to keep operating in this reduced fashion and keep the wheels turning at The Whalley Wine Shop.

 

If you would like to place an order the current modified opening times are as follows:

Tuesday – Friday: 10.30am – 5pm
Saturday: Open 10.30am – 1pm
Sunday and Monday: Closed
